It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I’m a bit scared, somewhat elated and a bit matter of fact about the whole thing. When you head out solo, into the wind, with only a few days rations and enough dough to eat at a couple of fast food joints on a journey of 1600 miles you are going to have a few qualms. But one of my happiest moments was on a bike, as a kid, and there is something freeing about taking gambles at a later stage in life. Comfort is overrated, but there will come a time I’ll rue that statement because a month or more full of grit is a bit to bear.
Watch this website to follow my little journey. I’ll be posting updates using my mobile phone. The pictures will be grainy, the progress haphazard, the postings sporadic and I hope I make it.
